The Role

As a Senior / Staff AI Engineer, you’ll play a hands-on role in building and scaling advanced AI solutions. You’ll work closely with portfolio company founders, executives, and the central investment team to design, prototype, and deploy real-world systems that leverage Generative AI, LLMs, and NLP technologies.

This is a unique opportunity to combine technical depth with strategic impact – turning emerging AI capabilities into tangible outcomes across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems using LLMs, generative models, and NLP frameworks
• Develop prototypes and evaluate new machine learning models, frameworks, and toolsets
• Collaborate with investment and operating teams to identify and implement AI-driven opportunities
• Build infrastructure for prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and model fine-tuning
• Partner with software engineers to integrate AI functionality into scalable products and platforms
• Stay current on AI research and emerging technologies, applying them in practical business contexts

About You

• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, research, or applied data science
• Expert proficiency in Python and modern AI frameworks
• Deep understanding of NLP, generative models, and deep learning architectures
• Experience working with large, unstructured datasets and distributed cloud environments
• Proven ability to independently design, implement, and deliver end-to-end AI solutions

Preferred:

• Background applying AI in healthcare, finance, or scientific domains
• Familiarity with Databricks, PySpark, or production-scale ML pipelines
• Experience with LLM fine-tuning, vector databases, and API-based integrations
• Contributions to open-source projects or published research in relevant fields
