Senior Systems and Network Automation Engineer

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid/On-site as required, remote option for the right candidate)

Reports to: Manager, IT

Level: Senior / Individual Contributor with Technical Leadership

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced systems engineering professional who has a strong

professional record of success focused on integration and automation. The selected

candidate will consistently apply strong problem-solving and analytical skills, review business operations to suggest automation, pay close attention to detail, and prioritize security. This individual must also be intellectually curious in a way the ensures technical currency in our field and the ability to identify and engage with applicable tools and trends as they develop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows for system and network operations.
  • Build and manage Linux-based systems supporting systems and network infrastructure.
  • Develop scripts and tools (Python, Bash, etc.) to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Integrate enterprise business systems and platforms using APIs and orchestration frameworks.
  • Collaborate with network engineers, system administrators, and DevOps teams to streamline processes.
  • Document automation processes and provide training to team members.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years dynamic scripting language experience such as Python, Ruby, or Groovy
  • Thorough understanding of the Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Strong proficiency in Linux administration.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
  • Experience with API integration and automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Jenkins or Git).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Working knowledge of AI and LLM systems and tools.
  • Exposure to network monitoring tools and telemetry systems.
  • 2+ years of experience in network engineering or related field.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
