Company Description
CRV-backed deep tech startup miniaturizing lab-grade spectroscopy for industrial monitoring
Job Description
As the first dedicated Test Engineer, you will build the infrastructure to validate embedded sensors for high-stakes industrial environments. You'll bridge the gap between bench science and ruggedized production, designing custom automated rigs that stress-test hardware against extreme heat, vibration, and pressure to protect the world's most critical infrastructure.
Location
San Francisco, USA
Why this role is remarkable
- Be the foundational test hire for a company backed by $13.7M in Seed funding from top-tier VC firm CRV.
- Work on cutting-edge hardware that brings PPM-level trace analysis to industrial hydraulics and mission-critical datacenter cooling loops.
- Join a high-caliber team of ~20 veterans and builders, including mechatronics experts from companies like Anduril, in a fast-paced "type-two fun" culture.
What You Will Do
- Architect and build custom automated test fixtures and fluidics robots from scratch to run prototypes through thousands of cycles.
- Design and execute comprehensive environmental stress tests including thermal, vibration, fluid pressure, and HALT/HASS protocols.
- Develop Python-based data acquisition scripts to pull sensor data, flag anomalies, and lead root cause analysis on hardware failures.
The ideal candidate
- Proven experience building electromechanical, fluid loop, or high-voltage test rigs with a destructive, analytical mindset.
- High proficiency in Python for test automation and data parsing, with deep knowledge of DAQ hardware and sensors.
- Skilled in MCAD (Solidworks) for designing custom fixtures and experienced in managing 3rd party certifications like IP67 or UL.

We never post fake jobs
This isn't a trick. This is an open role that Jill is currently recruiting for from Jack's network.
Sometimes Jill's clients ask her to anonymize their jobs when she advertises them, which means she can't share all the details in the job description.
We appreciate this can make them look a bit suspect, but there isn't much we can do about it.
Give Jack a spin! You could land this role. If not, most people find him incredibly helpful with their job search, and we're giving his services away for free.
