In this role, you will

Manage, mentor, and scale a team of triage analysts focused on root cause analysis, balancing people management responsibilities with individual contributor work

Lead and define the "how" for critical team processes by driving cross-functional initiatives and establishing best practices as a program owner

Develop, implement, and refine internal processes, incident response playbooks, and workflow improvements to ensure scalability

Drive the strategy for AI-augmented triage, implementing automated root cause synthesis and intelligent anomaly detection to transform reactive manual analysis into a scalable, proactive response framework

Act as a critical communication layer through collaboration with software engineering, product and program management, and operations to ensure efforts align with overarching company objectives

Conduct regular training sessions to deepen the team's system knowledge, automation skills, and strengthen cross-functional relationships

Monitor systems to identify trends, regressions, and progressions, ensuring findings are shared and escalated appropriately

Partner with Data Analytics to track and continuously improve key performance indicators (KPIs) and system performance metrics

Required Qualifications

Management and Leadership: 2+ years of management experience with a proven ability to lead, mentor, and empower a team of technical analysts or similar roles. Demonstrated commitment to learning and investing in the growth of others.

Technical Depth and Problem Solving: Superb analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to deeply understand and analyze system-level failures in complex autonomous or robotics systems. Must be able to differentiate sub-system level failures, perform root cause analysis, and troubleshoot issues.

Data Acumen and Metrics Management: Demonstrated ability to drive data-driven decisions, coupled with sensitivity to tracking and improving team metrics (OKRs/SLAs). Must be proficient in utilizing Business Intelligence (BI) tools and dashboards as a business user to interpret trends and extract actionable insights.

Process and Program Ownership: Experience designing, executing, and optimizing major programs or features across a team or function. Ability to proactively identify systemic problems, define new processes, and drive projects to address them, with a focus on scaling operations (e.g., tooling, automation, workflow improvements). Demonstrated success in defining and implementing internal best practices for technical analysis and reporting across interdisciplinary teams.

Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to act as a team representative in cross-functional capability, module, and product meetings. Ability to bridge the gap between technical, operations, and product groups, and provide clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.

Adaptability and Drive: Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, fluid working environment and demonstrating significant initiative to resolve complex assignments and drive performance improvement.

Desirable Qualifications

BS or MS in a STEM-related field (Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, etc.).

Experience leading programs/projects in test evaluation, root cause analysis, triage, or quality assurance/control domains, preferably within the autonomous vehicle or robotics industries.

Data Proficiency: Strong knowledge and experience using relational databases (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL) and common data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R) to track throughput and quality metrics, and inform program performance.

Proficiency using AI agents and co-pilots as well as coding & development assistants with a passion for building dashboards, tooling, and automation.

The base salary range for this position is $115,000-$167,000 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
