Education/Experience:
MSEE or PhD in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on digital signal processing and wireless communication systems.
5–7+ years of experience developing signal processing algorithms for wireless communication systems in a product development environment.
Position description:
ISCO is seeking a Senior Wireless DSP / PHY Algorithm Engineer to research, design, and develop advanced signal processing algorithms for 5G wireless communication systems and infrastructure.
This role focuses on the development of algorithms for 5G wireless communication systems, including interference detection and mitigation, RF signal conditioning, and advanced PHY-layer receiver processing. In this role, you will develop MATLAB-based models of wireless systems, analyze real-world time-domain IQ signals, and design algorithms that improve receiver performance in challenging interference environments.
The work spans multiple stages of the wireless signal processing chain, including digital front-end (DFE) processing in radios as well as advanced PHY-layer receiver algorithms implemented in baseband units. Work includes algorithm development for both time-domain signal processing and OFDM receiver processing, including equalization, combining, and interference-aware detection techniques. This includes the development and evaluation of receiver algorithms such as MRC, IRC, MMSE-based equalization, and interference-aware combining methods for multi-antenna OFDM systems. Algorithms may be implemented in FPGAs or software.
This position spans the full innovation lifecycle, including research, invention of new signal processing algorithms, modeling, simulation, laboratory validation, and product deployment. The role involves close collaboration with RF, FPGA, and software teams to transition algorithms from concept into deployed telecom products.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys inventing and developing novel signal processing techniques, creatively adapting existing algorithms to address challenging interference environments, and translating advanced receiver algorithms into practical wireless infrastructure solutions.
