Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology degree or related experience in electric utility field, specifically in system planning or smart grid coordination
· 0-5 years of experience in the electric utilities industry.
· 0-5 years of experience in power distribution, transmission, or generation.
· Basic knowledge and understanding of high voltage power distribution, coordination, and protective devices.
· Ability to complete projects in a timely manner with minimal corrections and QC necessary.
· The ability to work with senior level engineers and follow detailed instructions to complete large-scale or small-scale projects.
The smart grid automation engineer position consists of programming reclosers and other protective devices on an electric distribution grid in the panhandle of Florida. Our client is seeking a dedicated employee who can work a hybrid schedule and complete weekly regional work along the panhandle of Florida, from Panama City to Pensacola.
Normal duties would include: field work consisting of equipment checks, protective device programming, voltage drop studies, and equipment testing. Ideal candidate will be able to work alongside other engineers to identify problems and fix issues in a timely manner. This job is 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, with the ability to work from home, office, and includes minimal travel.

Pay: $23.00 - $31.00 per hour
