Software Assurance Engineer: Oversee Compliance and Quality Assurance

Become a pivotal Software Assurance Engineer focusing on software quality and compliance in ship systems. Ensure software safety by evaluating supplier practices and conducting rigorous audits in a collaborative atmosphere.

In this full-time, in-office role, you will lead risk-based assurance activities governing software throughout its life cycle. Responsibilities include developing assurance plans, maintaining software inventories, and assessing supplier testing methodologies. Close collaboration with engineering teams will ensure informed decisions that uphold safety, security, and design integrity standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead independent, risk-based software assurance activities
• Develop and maintain software assurance plans and tools
• Assess supplier engineering and defect management practices
• Oversee software inventory and risk assessments
• Audit supplier practices and conduct code reviews

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s in Software Engineering or Computer Science required
• 4–10 years of experience in shipbuilding or similar environments
• Proficient in IEEE software engineering standards
• Knowledge of ISO / IEC and MIL-STD-882
• Experience with softwre safety assessments preferred
