Job Title: Software Engineer – C# Instrumentation Systems

Location: North Reading, MA (Onsite)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with deep expertise in C# development supporting hardware product systems. In this role, you will be a key contributor in developing complex software-based test and instrumentation solutions for the emerging silicon photonics market, supporting all stages of fabrication — from wafer probe to packaged test.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement high‑quality software instrumentation solutions using C#
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle supporting hardware product systems development
  • Develop scalable, high‑performance, extensible, and maintainable software architectures
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (hardware, test, systems, manufacturing) to analyze requirements and deliver robust solutions
  • Develop and support test solutions across manufacturing stages, including wafer probe and packaged test
  • Apply metrology principles to calibrate and maintain systems meeting tight performance specifications
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware–software integration issues
  • Use industry best practices for version control, code quality, and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in software quality, efficiency, and reliability

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience programming instrumentation systems, specifically supporting hardware product development
  • Strong and proven expertise in C# software development
  • Experience developing software for instrumentation, test, or measurement systems
  • Solid understanding of metrology concepts and system calibration
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience working in Windows-based environments
  • Familiarity with GIT or similar version control systems
  • Hands‑on experience with Visual Studio and issue tracking tools such as Jira
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Python programming experience
  • Background or experience in optics or silicon photonics
  • Experience with embedded programming
  • Knowledge of semiconductor testing and manufacturing processes
  • Experience supporting high‑precision measurement and test equipment

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $ 79000 per year

Pay Range Maximum: $ 110000 per year

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
