Cambridge Automation is seeking a Software Engineer to support advanced ISR, C5ISR, and aerospace programs across Department of Defense environments. You will develop secure, scalable software systems that integrate with sensors, platforms, and mission-critical infrastructure.

- ISR / C5ISR mission systems
- DevSecOps and secure software delivery
- Real-time and distributed system architectures
What You’ll Do
Software Development & Engineering
- Design, develop, test, and maintain secure and scalable software solutions
- Translate system requirements into functional designs and implementations
- Develop applications using Java, Python, C++, C#, or similar languages
- Build microservices, APIs, and distributed system architectures
- Apply secure coding standards and software engineering best practices
System Integration & Mission Support
- Integrate software with C5ISR systems, sensors, and mission platforms
- Support system testing, validation, and deployment activities
- Troubleshoot defects across development, test, and production environments
- Collaborate with systems engineers on interfaces, data flows, and architecture
Agile & DevSecOps Execution
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint execution
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automated build/test processes
- Implement DevSecOps practices including automated security scanning
- Manage version control and configuration using Git and related tools
Security & Compliance
- Develop software aligned with RMF, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity standards
- Support ATO processes and security accreditation requirements
- Identify and remediate vulnerabilities within code and systems
- Ensure compliance with secure development lifecycle (SDLC) practices
Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and user guides
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical briefings
- Interface with Government stakeholders and cross-functional teams
What You Bring
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph (Required)
- 5+ years of software development experience (mid-to-senior level)
- Proficiency in one or more: Java, Python, C++, C#
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with Git or similar version control systems
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Preferred
- Experience supporting ISR, C5ISR, or aerospace systems
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GovCloud)
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, SonarQube)
- Experience with real-time systems, embedded systems, or data pipelines
- Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environments
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $140,000 – $175,000+ annually
(Commensurate with experience, clearance, and mission scope)

- Location: APG, MD or California (NIWC Pacific / NAVWAR / NAWCWD)
