A leading quantitative trading and investment firm is looking for a strong Python Software Engineer to join a high-impact data engineering team supporting live trading operations.

This team sits at the centre of the trading lifecycle, building and maintaining critical systems across reference data, trade lifecycle automation, reporting pipelines, and operational workflows. The work directly supports traders and researchers, with strong visibility across the business and tangible impact on live trading activity.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building scalable Python systems for trade and position lifecycle workflows
• Automating operational processes across corporate actions, expiries, settlements, and payments
• Designing and maintaining reference data platforms across multiple asset classes
• Developing reporting pipelines for internal stakeholders and external regulatory requirements
• Improving system reliability, testing, and deployment workflows
• Working closely with trading, quant research, risk, and operations teams

What they’re looking for:

• Strong commercial Python engineering experience
• Solid SQL and relational database knowledge
• Experience building production-grade systems with a focus on scale and reliability
• Good understanding of testing, CI/CD, and software delivery best practices
• Strong problem-solving ability and comfort in fast-moving environments
• Financial markets or trading exposure is beneficial, but not essential
