Software Engineer (Robotics)

Overview

SOTA Robotics (HK) Limited is an innovative technology company incubated by professors from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and supported by ITC TSSSU.

We are a fast-growing startup that have successfully developed our own humanoid robot and dexterous hand with a compact but talented team. Our mission is to leverage state-of-the-art technologies to solve real-world challenges, particularly in domestic and industrial applications of humanoid robotics, while driving innovation in sustainable automation solutions.

Our core expertise lies in AI, embodied intelligence, and advanced robotics, where we are actively pushing the boundaries of humanoid robot and dexterous hand development, as well as embodied perception, and embodied data collection for humanoid robots.

We are currently seeking a Software Engineer (Robotics) to join our dedicated engineering team, assisting in the design, testing, and prototyping of innovative robotic systems among other software development assignments.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in the testing and evaluation of prototypes to ensure optimal functionality and performance.

• Develop and optimize control software of cutting-edge robotic systems and associated components.

• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to integrate and optimize performance of sensors, actuators, motors and control loops.

• Explore new algorithms and approaches to enhance dexterity, stability, and autonomy for our new products.

• Contribute to the system architecture, simulation, and testing pipelines of our new products.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's / Master’s degree in A.I., Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in robotic system development.

• Proficiency in C/C++, Python programming, ROS2 is preferred.

• Hands-on experience in software/hardware integration is preferred.

• Proactive and passionate fast learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, eager to embrace challenges.

• A collaborative mindset—our breakthroughs come from working together, not alone.

• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Both Cantonese and Mandarin).
