Pay: $57.90/hour on W2

Work Type: Hybrid – On-site (Mon, Wed & Thu)

Location: Austin, TX 78759 (Locals Only)

Work Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some flexibility)

Duration: 6-month contract with a possibility of extension/conversion

Job Overview:

  • We are seeking an Integration, Validation, Verification, and Qualification (IVVQ) Engineer to join a dynamic team delivering customized solutions for state and local government agencies.
  • These solutions support the issuance of official documents (e.g., Driver’s Licenses, ID cards) and biometric comparison systems for government and law enforcement customers.
  • This role is central to project success and requires strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, leadership qualities, and a problem-solving mindset within a fast-paced environment.
  • The IVVQ Engineer is responsible for improving system quality through test preparation, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • This role also includes managing test platforms and test data to support validation activities across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a core member of project teams delivering innovative identity and biometric solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers during project setup and implementation (onsite presence may be required)
  • Design validation strategies and develop automated test scripts.
  • Ensure solution reliability, robustness, and performance through development and QA best practices.
  • Understand solution architecture and software components to maximize test coverage and minimize risk.
  • Create and execute QA plans, acceptance and validation test plans, and test scripts.
  • Define validation scenarios to ensure full requirements coverage.
  • Execute tests and manage bug tracking in validation and UAT environments.
  • Review specifications, technical design documents, and test scripts.
  • Expand automation coverage and regression test suites.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Technical Leads, and project teams to meet timelines and quality goals.
  • Report progress, risks, and issues to management.
  • Support System Integration Testing (SIT), Staging, and Production environments.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of company standards and share lessons learned.
  • Provide Level 3 support for deployed solutions in production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Write and execute test cases.
  • Debug issues and document findings.
  • Clearly communicate test results, defects, and recommendations.
  • Investigate issues, propose solutions, and present findings in a clear and understandable manner.

Top 5 Required Skills:

  • 5+ years validating Windows and web applications using .NET/Java platforms.
  • 3+ years with multiple validation methodologies (Functional, Integration, Performance, Usability, Acceptance)
  • 3+ years using defect management tools such as JIRA.
  • Proven API testing experience using SOAP/REST.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid passport.
  • 5+ years of experience validating Windows and web applications using .NET/Java-based platforms for end-to-end testing.
  • 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high-technology environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with validation methodologies including Functional, Integration, Performance, Usability, and Acceptance testing.
  • 3+ years of experience with defect management tools (e.g., JIRA)
  • Strong knowledge of IVVQ methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Proven experience with API testing using SOAP/REST protocols.
  • Experience estimating IVVQ activities and managing schedules, risks, and task tracking.
  • Strong knowledge of networking and communication protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, LDAP)
  • Proven experience writing SQL queries for database validation.
  • Strong understanding of application security, data persistence, and querying.
  • Experience troubleshooting software and hardware in high-pressure environments.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of software development and release management processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on projects from planning through deployment.
  • Experience in identity management or biometric systems.
  • Knowledge of automation tools such as TestComplete, ReadyAPI, and JMeter.
  • Ability to make decisions in uncertain or ambiguous situations.
