Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Sr. Automation Robotic Engineer to lead the requirements analysis, tracking, and verification for industrial automation and control system development programs. This role involves defining and validating system requirements for automation solutions in manufacturing and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will also contribute to the development of enterprise-wide engineering processes, standards, and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage systems engineering tasks including requirements analysis, system architecture design, integration support, and verification/validation for industrial automation systems.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on system requirements and design intent.
- Develop and maintain system-level documentation including functional specifications, interface control documents, and test plans.
- Peer review higher risk evolving mechanical and electrical designs to mitigate potential impacts.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for automation projects.
- Mentor engineering staff, providing technical guidance and oversight.
- Lead verification and validation activities including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning support.
- Contribute to the development of systems engineering standards, templates, and process improvements.
- Support proposal development, including technical solutioning, cost estimation, and documentation.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related STEM field with 9+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience.
- Proven experience in systems engineering for industrial engineering applications, including requirement definition, system design, and validation.
- Experience with the full lifecycle of automation projects, from concept through commissioning.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience with automation platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric), control systems, and industrial communication protocols.
- Experience in developing and deploying industrial automation systems in manufacturing or process industries.
- Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., IEC, ISO) and regulatory compliance.
- Hands-on experience with system testing and debugging in lab or production environments.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage technical resources.
- Experience with digital twin, simulation, or model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Strong documentation and presentation skills for internal and customer-facing deliverables.
Work Environment
The work environment involves working with advanced automation engineering and systems engineering technologies. You will be operating in industrial automation settings with exposure to robotics, PLC programming, and automated machines. The role requires proficiency with platforms like Rockwell, Siemens, and ABB, and familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $90.00/hr.
