Position Overview

Chicago Stars FC is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to serve as the architect of the club's data and analytics function. This role will design and build the business intelligence infrastructure that powers the organization to make smarter, data-driven decisions across commercial departments. This individual will help support key business units to professionalize and unify the analytics function across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail-oriented analyst who can engage effectively with senior stakeholders, cross functional teams, and subject matter experts to help create the infrastructure, processes, and culture that will shape how the organization uses data and insights to drive short and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders across functional areas to assess, define, and prioritize data and analytics requirements.
  • Evaluate and help implement the tools, technology, and data infrastructure needed to ingest, clean, store, and extract data effectively.
  • Design, build, and maintain reporting dashboards that provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights to key stakeholders.
  • Guide teams in interpreting data and translate findings into informed business decisions.
  • Serve as a trusted analytical resource for cross-functional teams, helping to embed a data-driven culture throughout the organization.
  • Play a central role in developing the club's understanding of its fanbase — including fan acquisition, engagement, and retention — and identifying opportunities to grow revenue across marketing, ticketing, partnerships, and club operations.
  • Key areas of analysis may include:
  • Fan Engagement & Insights

-Develop a comprehensive understanding of the club's audience opportunity, including key existing and growth segments.

-Understand how to drive fanbase growth through data — including fan acquisition, behavior, preferences, and lifetime value.

  • Ticketing & Sales

-Lead analytics support for the ticketing department, providing insights that drive pricing strategy, inventory management, and demand forecasting.

-Monitor and report on sales performance, identifying opportunities to improve conversion, renewal rates, and group sales outcomes.

-Analyze ticket buyer behavior to uncover patterns that inform sales strategy and fan experience improvements.

  • Marketing

-Assess marketing effectiveness and continuously optimize growth marketing initiatives through marketing performance data and reporting.

  • Business Reporting & Executive Intelligence

-Own the club's business reporting infrastructure, ensuring leadership has timely, accurate, and actionable insights across all commercial functions.

-Design and maintain executive dashboards that track KPIs across revenue, attendance, fan growth, and commercial performance.

-Support annual planning and forecasting processes with data-driven analysis and modeling.

Required

  • 6+ years of experience in analytics, with at least 2 years in a management or lead role.
  • Strong background in commercial or business analytics, with demonstrated expertise in fan/customer insights, ticketing, or revenue analytics.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one statistical programming language (Python or R preferred).
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to present complex data in a clear, compelling way to non-technical stakeholders and executives.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms and marketing measurement and analytics tools.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a professional sports organization or live entertainment business.
  • Familiarity with ticketing platforms (Ticketmaster, AXS, Seat Geek, or equivalent) and related data systems.
  • Exposure to dynamic pricing, revenue management, or customer lifetime value modeling.
