Senior Machine Learning Engineer — Research Location: West Coast Preferred (Seattle or Santa Monica) About the Team The Ad Platforms organization within Company Technology is responsible for building and operating a high-performance, distributed, microservice-based advertising platform across Company’s online properties. This team develops and maintains proprietary ad technology spanning ad serving, delivery, campaign management, forecasting, reporting, and complex internal and external integrations that power a world-class video advertising business. Our mission is to advance AI and machine learning across the Ad Platform by delivering scalable, high-impact ML solutions that improve ad decisioning, forecasting, experimentation, pricing, targeting, and overall ad experience. The Role We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Research) to help drive state-of-the-art AI innovation across advertising domains. This is a high-impact role for an experienced ML engineer who thrives at the intersection of technical depth, strategic influence, and cross-functional collaboration. What You’ll Do Apply advanced AI and machine learning techniques across advertising use cases including: Inventory forecasting Ad pacing and pricing Targeting and personalization Ad experience optimization Efficient ad delivery Rapidly prototype and deploy novel ML solutions to complex advertising challenges. Design, build, and scale production-grade ML systems that power core ad platform capabilities. Ensure engineering excellence through best practices in system design, code quality, and operational reliability. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong technical culture of innovation and continuous learning. Basic Qualifications MS (PhD preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent experience 3+ years of hands‑on experience developing and deploying large-scale ML systems Strong foundations in: Machine learning theory Mathematics and statistics Algorithms and data structures Numerical optimization Programming expertise in Python (primary), plus Java and SQL Experience with ML frameworks such as: TensorFlow PyTorch HuggingFace libraries Proven experience with: Deep learning (recurrent and sequence‑based models) Transformer architectures (BERT, GPT, ViT) Multimodal embeddings (text, image, audio, structured data) Large Language Models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama) RAG architectures and LLM evaluation methodologies Excellent communication and collaboration skills Demonstrated success in fast‑paced, data‑driven environments Preferred Qualifications Experience in digital video advertising or digital marketing Experience with Databricks Experience with AWS SageMaker Education Required: BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field Preferred: MS or PhD Why This Role is Exciting Work on ML systems that power advertising at massive scale Apply cutting‑edge deep learning and LLM research in real‑world production systems Influence next‑generation AI capabilities across major streaming platforms Operate in a highly collaborative, fast‑moving engineering environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
