This role serves as the primary HR partner for Vehicle Assembly (e.g., Stamping, Body‑in‑White, Paint, General Assembly, Logistics, Facilities) and Powertrain operations. 

This is a high-visibility, hands-on leadership role where you will be the primary point of contact for HR decisions, escalations, and employee support—serving as the primary HR leader and partner for both senior plant leadership and frontline teams— and have responsibility for managing 1st and 2nd shift operations. This role is also expected to travel as needed to support our off-site manufacturing facilities in Casa Grande, Coolidge, and Tempe. 

The ideal candidate is decisive, highly autonomous, and comfortable operating in ambiguity within a fast-paced EV manufacturing environment. 

This position is based out of our Advanced Manufacturing Plant in Casa Grande, AZ (Required onsite at least 4 days a week) (Monday -Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM core hours). 

 

You Will:

Strategic Business Partnership 

Serve as a trusted HR advisor to plant, shop, and frontline leaders 

Partner with plant leadership to understand the unique technical talent requirements and retention drivers 

Align HR strategy and people plans with production and quality goals 

Coach leaders on performance management, team engagement, and organizational effectiveness 

Use people data and insights to influence leadership decisions 

Support weekly business reviews (WBRs) with HR and talent analytics that empower shop leaders to run and be accountable for their areas 

Site & Shift Leadership 

Serve as the primary HR contact and escalation point for operations, translating production goals, quality priorities, and labor needs into real‑time people decisions that keep operations running safely and efficiently 

Provide on-the-floor HR presence and real-time guidance to leaders and employees in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment 

Lead and standardize HR practices and policies across the site to ensure consistency and scalability 

Build and refine HR processes that are practical for a manufacturing environment while supporting employee engagement, accountability, and compliance  

Ensure smooth handoffs and continuity between first and second shift HR teams including supporting regular touchpoints with night‑shift leaders to share updates, reinforce expectations, gather feedback, and drive accountability 

Maintain strong alignment between HR priorities and production needs 

Support the rollout of the Lucid Production System and lean practices across the site 

Workforce & Talent Management 

Analyze workforce data (headcount, attrition, attendance/absenteeism, engagement, overtime, ER trends) to identify risks and drive proactive solutions  

Manage workforce planning, labor strategy, and headcount optimization to support plant production goals 

Own execution of key HR processes, including: 

Performance cycles and talent reviews 

Workforce/succession planning and labor reporting 

Compensation, promotion, and calibration cycles 

Lead or support cross-functional HR projects tied to plant growth and efficiency 

Partner with Centers of Excellence (COEs) on training, development, and performance programs 

Work with leaders to help them create development plans for their team 

Manage requisitions and reporting in SuccessFactors (HRIS) 

People Matters & Compliance 

Lead complex employee investigations with fairness, urgency, and consistency 

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws 

Apply policies consistently to mitigate risk and maintain trust 

Partner with Legal and senior leadership as needed on sensitive matters 

Support leaders in building a culture of accountability, recognition, and development on day shift 

Drive engagement efforts that improve morale, retention, and productivity on day shift 

Partner with leaders and EHS to support a strong safety culture through people practices and accountability 

 

You Bring:  

Required 

8-12 years of HR business partner or labor relations experience (including 5+ years of supervising a team)

Strong background in employee relations and labor-focused environments 

Proven ability to operate autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure 

Experience navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-moving operations 

Deep knowledge of employment law and HR compliance 

Strong communication and influence skills at all levels 

Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for supporting frontline teams 

Learning agility and able to adapt as priorities, processes, and production needs change 

Comfortable thinking differently/out-of-the-box while staying practical and scrappy; finding workable solutions with limited time or resources 

Ability to partner with and challenge senior leaders while remaining accessible and relatable to shop-floor employees 

Preferred 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field 

PHR or SPHR certification 

2+ years of experience leading or supervising a team 

Experience supporting manufacturing, warehouse/logistics, or plant operations 

Automotive, EV, or OEM experience a plus 

Bilingual a plus
