Job Summary

Wilder Systems designs, manufactures, and installs robotic systems for aerospace manufacturing and maintenance in both Commercial and Defense applications. We have a dynamic, talented, and collaborative engineering team and want those who are energized by contributing to solutions for our customers’ toughest problems.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to be responsible for the layout and functionality of manufacturing lines for aerospace. This position requires both a strong design and robotics background. The Manufacturing Automation Engineer must be able conduct design for manufacturability reviews, architect systems, and program at all stages of the deployment lifecycle of Wilder Systems’ projects.

Responsibilities

  • System Design: Develop, configure, and optimize automated manufacturing systems from inception to production.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality
  • Programming and Configuration: Code and Configure PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems.
  • Documentation: Create technical documentation including system diagrams, work instructions, test protocols, and user guides.
  • Testing and Validation: Create test protocols and conduct evaluation of systems to ensure safety and performance.
  • Root Cause Analysis: investigate production failures or defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with engineering and production teams across the company to integrate automated manufacturing and address quality issues
  • Data Analysis and Improvement: Monitor system performance and implement continuous improvement.

General Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar field

Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and have a solid understanding of electrical and mechanical control systems

10 or more years of professional experience in Automation and/or Manufacturing

Both self-motivated and work well under general supervision

Works well in high pressure situations, during tight deadlines, and in front of customers

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Able to travel occasionally

Required Experience

Excellent knowledge of Control Theory

Proficient in Robotics, PLC, and software programming

Knowledge of industrial hardware and software available on the market

Strong familiarity with Network communication

Understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and quality control standards.

Proficient in CAD software

Preferred Experience

6+ years of experience deploying automation for aerospace

6+ years of experience in high-rate production

Robotics, Automotive or Aerospace Automation background

Experience with manufacturing frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)

Electrical skills - soldering, crimping, and panel builds

Manufacturing knowledge - drilling, welding, pick and place automation, and fastening

Ability to perform programming on robot languages (Fanuc/UR)

Proficient in AutoCAD
