Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Sr. Market Risk Analyst for a prominent client in the energy trading sector. This position offers the opportunity to leverage your analytical expertise and technical skills to support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced market. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting risk exposures, contributing to the operational efficiency of a well-established company.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize ETRM system (RightAngle) to analyze and report mark-to-market valuations, risk positions, basis changes, and profit/loss results daily.
- Drive standardization of processes to ensure timely generation and retrieval of reporting and risk analytics data.
- Ensure compliance with company-wide trading and position limits.
- Assist with setup of trading strategies in RightAngle, ensuring accurate trade capture and reporting, including implementation and testing of software enhancements.
- Analyze current market risk controls and middle office processes, and participate in the development of new procedures.
- Establish strong relationships with Credit, Finance, and IT stakeholders by demonstrating expertise on business and technical issues.
- Provide training and assistance to traders and schedulers on deal entry, ensuring accurate capture and reporting within RightAngle.
- Validate daily pricing inputs and identify missing or incorrect data.
- Develop and maintain desk procedures for deal input, middle office operations, and reporting functions.
- Support accounting with reconciling financial statements and risk estimates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial or energy trading environments.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
- Experience with ETRM systems, preferably RightAngle.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated understanding of market exposure, risk reporting, and mark-to-market valuation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
