About Campus

Campus https://campus.edu/ is on a mission to accelerate the talent of tomorrow and reimagine what college can (and should) be. The problem is clear: college costs have skyrocketed, but outcomes haven’t. Traditional college hasn’t kept up with the aspirations of today’s students—and they can’t afford to wait.

At Campus, we’ve built a two-year, accredited college where students learn from top professors at universities like Princeton, Stanford, and Howard, in live, online classes. Our students graduate with in-demand business and AI skills—ready to launch their careers or transfer to top four-year universities. Our unique approach is grounded in a pioneering technology platform and a heavily-researched student success model that offers students dedicated advisors and on-demand tutoring and coaching. We were also named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2024 https://c212.net/c/link/?t=0&l=en&o=4289374-1&h=905796532&u=https%3A%2F%2Fc212.net%2Fc%2Flink%2F%3Ft%3D0%26l%3Den%26o%3D4174213-1%26h%3D410953500%26u%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.fastcompany.com%252F91036638%252Fcampus-most-innovative-companies-2024%26a%3DMost%2BInnovative%2BCompanies%2Bof%2B2024&a=Most+Innovative+Companies+of+2024.

The world has changed. Higher ed needs to catch up, and we’re leading the way - come join us!

About the role

You'll join the team building the modern tech stack our college runs on — bringing the backbone of higher education into the 21st century.

Billions of dollars flow through colleges every year as financial aid, tuition, and federal disbursements, and most of it still moves through software built decades ago. We're modernizing these workflows with tools that are fast, correct, and audit-ready by design.

You'll help develop technology that supports Financial Aid and Student Accounts, integrating with complex federal systems that are old, opinionated, and unforgiving. You'll work closely with Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Registrar teams to turn manual, compliance-heavy processes into durable solutions.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will...

  • Ship meaningful features quickly: Solve high-impact problems and deliver solutions using modern workflows—feature flags, CI/CD, automated testing, and AI-assisted coding.
  • Build infrastructure that has to be right: Design APIs, services, and data flows where idempotency, reconciliation, and observability aren't nice-to-haves — they're the job.
  • Improve how we work: Contribute to engineering best practices, refine our developer tooling, and shape processes that help the team scale effectively.
  • Collaborate: Partner with Product, Design, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts to deliver end-to-end solutions on the problems that matter most.
  • Solve challenging problems: Build the next generation of systems powering modern higher education — your work will directly improve outcomes for students and the teams behind them.

Why we’re excited about you because…

  • Solid engineering foundation: 6–8 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend development skills. Experience with Go, Python, or similar is especially valuable; familiarity with React is a plus.
  • Proven shipper: Track record of building and releasing high-quality products or features at scale.
  • Builder mindset: You take ownership from design to deployment, balancing speed with maintainability.
  • Curious and growth-oriented: You’re motivated to deepen your craft, learn new technologies, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative problem solver: You value working across disciplines and bring a low-ego, team-first attitude.

What you'll get:

  • A compensation package that includes a base salary ($200K - $230K) + equity grant
  • Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) match
  • Flexible Time Away + several paid holidays
  • In-office lunches for our NY Office (did we mention, we’re dog friendly? 🐶)
  • Hybrid work schedule (Mon & Fri remote; Tues-Thurs in-office)
  • Social events - happy hours, birthday celebrations, holiday parties, & more
  • Opportunity to make an impact – you’ll be an integral player in bringing our vision to life

Visa Sponsorship:

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer H1B visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship; however, we are able to sponsor a TN visa for eligible Canadian and Mexican citizens.
