Job Description

ABOUT NEXTSTEP

NextStep is an AI-powered platform designed to help the best consulting talent find their next chapter. Rather than a traditional application process, our matching technology does the work by pairing candidates with opportunities where their background is a genuine fit. On behalf of a client in our partner network, we are looking for an exceptional Strategy Analyst.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a healthcare technology company based in Boston, building data and analytics tools that help hospital systems and payers make better clinical and operational decisions. They are at a pivotal moment: a recently signed enterprise partnership significantly expands their market reach, and the strategy team is adding analytical capacity to support the decisions that will shape the next phase of growth. The work sits at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and strategic decision-making, which makes for an unusually interesting analyst role.

THE ROLE

As a Strategy Analyst, you will support the corporate strategy team in delivering the analysis, research, and frameworks that drive high-stakes decisions across the business. You will own analytical workstreams, build models, synthesise findings, and contribute to materials that go directly to senior leadership and the board. This is a role for someone who is earlier in their career but brings the analytical foundations and intellectual drive to operate well above their level.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and landscape assessments to support strategic planning and business development decisions.
  • Build and maintain financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases in support of investment and partnership decisions.
  • Synthesise complex information from multiple sources into clear, structured insights and executive-ready materials.
  • Support the preparation of board presentations, strategic planning documents, and leadership briefings.
  • Track key performance indicators and market trends relevant to the company's strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate logistics and content for strategy team initiatives including planning cycles, workshops, and stakeholder reviews.
  • Develop knowledge of the healthcare technology landscape and contribute a well-informed point of view to team discussions.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 2-4 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or a strategy or analytics function.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills; able to build models from scratch and defend the assumptions behind them.
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to quickly develop working knowledge of new markets, sectors, or business models.
  • Clear written communication; able to produce structured, concise materials that hold up in front of senior audiences.
  • Curious, proactive, and self-directed; someone who does not need to be told what to look for once given a question.
  • Interest in healthcare technology, digital health, or the intersection of data and clinical decision-making is a genuine advantage.
  • Comfortable working in a small, high-trust team with high expectations and limited process overhead.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Base salary of $100,000 - $120,000, determined based on experience and scope.
  • Annual performance bonus tied to individual and team outcomes.
  • Additional benefits, including PTO, health, dental, and 401(k) are included and detailed as part of the full offer package.
