Our client, a global leader in the medical device industry, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist to lead complex procurement initiatives across technical categories. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in sourcing engineered products, systems, and technology solutions within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead negotiations for supplier agreements, including pricing, volume discounts, and long-term contracts
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for technical equipment, custom-engineered products, software, and components
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, performance, and cost efficiency
- Monitor and analyze market trends, cost drivers, and supplier technology roadmaps to inform sourcing strategies
- Evaluate and resolve supplier performance issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and contract compliance
- Review purchase orders and contracts to ensure alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams to support business objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within a technical or regulated industry
- Demonstrated expertise sourcing complex or engineered products and services
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of delivering cost savings and favorable contract terms
- Deep understanding of supply market dynamics, cost structures, and supplier capabilities
- Ability to operate as a subject matter expert and influence decision-making at senior levels
