Supplier Quality Engineer

£35,000 - £45,000 + excellent benefits

A global distribution business supplying the aerospace industry is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality assurance activities across the supply chain. This is a key role ensuring full compliance with aviation regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal quality systems while driving continuous improvement with suppliers worldwide.

The Role

As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of the supply chain by ensuring suppliers meet all quality, regulatory, and performance expectations required within the aerospace sector.

Duties:

  • Managing supplier quality performance to AS9100 / AS9120 standards
  • Supporting supplier approval, qualification, ongoing monitoring, and performance improvement
  • Conducting supplier audits, process evaluations, and risk assessments
  • Leading investigations into supplier non-conformances and driving effective CAPA
  • Working closely with internal teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues
  • Acting as the main quality point of contact for assigned suppliers
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier capability, quality, and cost efficiency
  • Maintaining accurate quality documentation to support internal, customer, and regulatory audits

About You

You will be a proactive, solutions-focused quality professional with strong experience in supplier quality within an aerospace or regulated manufacturing environment.

Experience & skills:

  • Proven background in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Aerospace Quality
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 / AS9120 (essential)
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and managing corrective actions
  • Working knowledge of aerospace regulations and quality requirements
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering data
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Confident working independently while supporting cross-functional teams
  • Strong IT skills with good numeracy and literacy skills
