Job Description

**Duties**:

  • You will serve as the senior liaison for budget, accounting, or financial management policy and procedures.
  • You will prepare briefs for senior managers on program execution and provide recommendations to correct program variances or problem areas.
  • You will provide interpretive and analytical advice on financial transactions and program execution.
  • You will develop format and content to provide managers with various listing, reports, and data relative to status of funds and the propriety of obligations.
  • You will ensure the financial integrity, timeliness, accuracy, and validity of supporting managerial accounting, budget execution, and financial management reports.
  • You will plan work, set priorities, and schedule work as necessary to assure effective and expeditious accomplishment of priority work.
  • You will provide technical and administrative oversight, advise and instruction.

  • This is a Financial Management Level III certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • *Qualifications**:
  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band (NO-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Mastery of the concepts, principles, practices, laws and regulations of budgeting and/or financing; 2) Develops, recommends and implements budgetary/financial policies; 3) Interprets, assesses and projects potential impact of new/revised Congressional legislation; 4) Develops and renders authoritative interpretations of executive orders and OMB guidance within and across agency lines; and 5) Provide leadership, supervision, motivation and counseling to employees.- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
