About the role
Zinvest Global Limited is looking for a high-caliber Infrastructure Engineer with deep technical expertise to manage our securities trading environment. This role goes beyond basic administration. You will be responsible for architecting resilient systems, optimizing network performance, and implementing modern DevOps practices for our Linux-based mission-critical applications. This position is based in our Admiralty office.
Key Responsibilities:
Advanced Linux & Deployment: Perform Linux Kernel tuning (TCP stack optimization, I/O scheduling) to support low-latency trading applications.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Ansible or Terraform to automate server provisioning and deployment.
- Manage version control for system configurations using Git.
Enterprise-Grade Monitoring:
- Architect distributed monitoring using Zabbix (leveraging Zabbix Proxy and custom LLD - Low Level Discovery).
- Utilize PRTG for detailed SNMP monitoring of network hardware (switches, firewalls) and environmental sensors in the Data Centre.
AWS Cloud & Hybrid Connectivity:
- Manage AWS VPC architecture, including Transit Gateways, Site-to-Site VPNs, and AWS Direct Connect for stable brokerage operations.
- Implement IAM roles, Security Groups, and NACLs with a "Least Privilege" security model.
Data Centre & Network Engineering:
- Hands-on experience with Data Centre Colocation (cabling, power management, hardware lifecycle).
- Strong network troubleshooting skills using tcpdump, wireshark, and iperf to diagnose latency or packet loss issues.
- Understanding of High Availability (HA) protocols (VRRP/HSRP, Load Balancing, Clustering).
Technical Requirements (The "Advance" Criteria):
- OS Expertise: Deep knowledge of RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu; ability to compile software from source and manage complex dependency trees.
- Scripting Power: Advanced proficiency in Python or Bash scripting to automate routine tasks and API integrations.
- Virtualization/Containers: Experience with VMware vSphere or Docker/K8s environments is a significant advantage.
- Database Infrastructure: Basic understanding of MySQL/PostgreSQL or Redis performance tuning.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with financial protocols (e.g., FIX protocol connectivity) or HKEx/SFC technological compliance standards is highly valued.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- Industry Experience: 5+ years of IT infrastructure experience; direct experience in Securities, Brokerage, or Financial Services is highly preferred.
- Linux & Automation: Advanced knowledge of Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) with a proven track record in Server Deployment and automation (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, or Shell Scripting).
- Monitoring Systems: Solid experience in architecting and managing Zabbix and PRTG for enterprise-level monitoring.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Practical experience in managing AWS resources and hybrid-cloud connectivity.
- Network & Data Centre: Strong "Network Sense" with hands-on experience in Data Centre operations and troubleshooting (Firewalls, VLANs, TCP/IP).
- Operational Standards: Familiarity with Change Management and regulatory compliance (e.g., SFC/HKEX technical standards) within a trading environment.
- Languages: Proficient in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (ability to communicate technical issues with both local and mainland China teams).
