Collaborate with stakeholders and customers to understand marine communication system requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
Design, configure, and implement marine communication systems, considering factors such as vessel size, communication range, data transfer rates, and regulatory compliance.
Utilize AutoCAD software to create comprehensive system designs, schematics, and wiring diagrams for marine communication systems.
Ensure the security and reliability of marine communication systems, implementing appropriate encryption protocols and access controls.
Manage marine communication system projects, including resource allocation, timeline management, and coordination with cross‑functional teams.
Create detailed documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and maintenance guidelines, utilizing AutoCAD and other tools.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior design engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development within the team.
Any other ad‑hoc tasks relevant to the business needs.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in designing and maintaining marine communication systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD software for creating detailed system designs, schematics, and documentation.
Strong knowledge of marine communication technologies, including VHF, UHF, MF/HF, satellite communication, and associated protocols.
Familiarity with marine communication regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., SOLAS, GMDSS).
Experience in project management, including leading marine communication system projects.
Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills specific to marine communication systems.
Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols relevant to marine environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Relevant certifications (e.g., GMDSS General Operator's Certificate, FCC Marine Radio Operator Permit) are a plus.
Appointment shall commensurate with experience.
