Systems Engineer - Remote, Bethesda, MD

Job Summary:
Seeking for a Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and manage the HashiCorp Vault solution. Collaborate with system administrators, service providers, and application owners to enhance security processes.
Core Work Activities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement security processes using HashiCorp Vault.
- Support onboarding of new applications and services.
- Define and enforce HashiCorp Vault policies and procedures.
- Create test cases for cross-platform interoperability.
- Implement and validate security controls.
- Monitor service levels and address issues promptly.
- Assist in identifying and resolving security events.
Maintaining Goals:
- Submit timely reports and ensure project documentation is accurate.
- Provide input and assistance to other teams.
Managing Work, Projects, and Policies:
- Manage and implement assigned projects.
- Provide accurate and timely reports and presentations.
- Analyze information to solve problems effectively.
Demonstrating and Applying Discipline Knowledge:
- Offer technical expertise and support.
- Stay updated with job-relevant technologies and processes.
- Utilize computer systems for data processing.
Delivering on the Needs of Key Stakeholders:
- Understand and meet stakeholder needs.
- Develop plans to organize and accomplish work efficiently.
- Collaborate with internal partners to support business strategies.
- Communicate concepts clearly and persuasively.
Candidate Profile:
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer sciences or related field or equivalent experience/certification.
- 5 years of IT engineering experience, including:
- 1 year with HashiCorp Vault or equivalent technology.
- 2 years of PowerShell coding experience.
- 2 years with AWS or Azure cloud services.
- 2 years with directory services, Windows, Linux, application, and database.
- 2 years supporting application development teams.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a large organization.
Preferred:
- Managing credentials, authentication, and tokenization with HashiCorp Vault.
- Experience with JSON and Rest API.
- Developing and applying HashiCorp Vault patterns.
- Experience with DevOps and business analysis.
- High availability and disaster recovery setups.
- Broad knowledge of IAM methodologies and solutions.
- Strong communication skills.
- Researching emerging technologies and trends.
