Job Description
A passion or demonstrated interest in markets/economics/current events is critical to success:The Intern will support the team with some or all of the following activities.
- Work with one of the following teams within TDAM - Fundamental Equities Research, Fixed Income or Asset Liability Management, Asset Allocation, Alternatives , or Investment Risk Management.
- Build and maintain analytics to help facilitate portfolio decision making, data analysis or financial analysis to help understand and recommend investments or to better understand the macro-economic environment
- Help run and support mission critical reporting used by the portfolio managers and attend and participate in team meetings and investment discussions.
- Validate data to ensure the integrity of the data and information
- Support projects focused on the ongoing improvement of our processes
- Undertake projects touching on strategy, marketing, business and product development, portfolio management, finance, risk, governance, client service, operations and trading
Requirements
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain attention to detail
- Good foundation in business acumen, capital markets, problem solving skills and analytical capabilities
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Strong verbal and written presentation skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
- Highly motivated individual with the willingness and flexibility to take on different initiatives
- Ability to operate within specialty software programs (e.g. Bloomberg, Factset, Thomson Reuters or Capital IQ etc.)
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across teams to research fulsome solutions
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
Good To Have
- Microsoft Access, Python/SQL/Coding skills, financial modelling
- VBA and SQL
- Co-op experience in investment research, real estate, public and private securities analysis, risk management
