Job Title: Team Lead, Business Intelligence

Team: Analytics

Reports to: Manager, Analytics

Job Status: 1 Permanent, Existing position vacancy

Job Level: 7

I. Job Purpose

Oversee day-to-day activities related to the development and delivery of enterprise reporting. Collaborates with business areas to implement reporting standards and best practices while advancing the organization’s data transformation initiatives.

Ii. Key Responsibilities

  • Plans, recruits, trains and supervises work activities to achieve team goals in carrying out processes related to the development and delivery of enterprise reporting: assigns and delegates work, provides feedback and coaching to enhance employee contributions, participates in recruitment and orientation activities, provides input and recommendations for performance assessments, and works with manager to identify performance expectations and goals.
  • Oversees the design, development and optimization of enterprise reporting; ensures alignment with organizational reporting strategy and data governance; advises on data visualization principles and self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Manages the end-to-end process for data requests for BI team, ensuring standardized intake, prioritization, quality assurance and timely delivery.
  • Leads engagement with business areas to identify business needs, operational reporting requirements, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Implements reporting standards and promotes best practices for report development, data governance, documentation, and solution quality.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to identify opportunities for process improvements and ensure appropriate administration and governance of Power BI workspaces, deployment pipelines, and datasets.

Iii. Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science/analytics, computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field required
  • 7 years progressive experience in BI/analytics/decision support, including hands-on Power BI development (e.g. semantic data models, DAX, deployment pipelines) and SQL
  • 2 years of team leadership or technical lead experience guiding developers/analysts and owning delivery outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure Databricks and modern data lake/lakehouse/warehouse architecture.
  • Experience with R or Python

  • Problem Solving – uses sound knowledge of analytics, Power BI, and reporting to identify patterns and develop solutions when information is missing or conflicting; evaluates business needs, standards, and risks before identifying a solution; adjusts solutions or approaches as required to address changes.

Hiring Range

$124,942.00 - $132,770.00

Full Salary Range

$124,942.00 - $149,930.00
