Job description
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with strong domain knowledge in Capital Markets and hands-on experience with MongoDB and SQL. This role bridges business stakeholders and technology teams, translating complex financial requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with traders, portfolio managers, risk teams, and IT to gather and document business and technical requirements
• Analyze front-to-back Capital Markets workflows (e.g., trade lifecycle, settlements, risk, reporting)
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications
• Work closely with developers to design and validate data models, APIs, and system integrations
• Perform data analysis using SQL and MongoDB to support decision-making and troubleshooting
• Create and maintain documentation including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flows
• Support system testing (UAT, SIT) and ensure solutions meet business requirements
• Identify process improvements and recommend technology-driven solutions
• Assist in regulatory and compliance-related initiatives within Capital Markets
Required Skills & Experience
Domain Expertise
• Strong understanding of Capital Markets (equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, or commodities)
• Familiarity with trade lifecycle, market data, pricing, and risk management
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in SQL (complex queries, joins, performance tuning)
• Experience with MongoDB (document data modeling, querying, aggregation pipelines)
• Understanding of data structures, ETL processes, and system integrations
• Exposure to APIs, microservices architecture, or cloud platforms is a plus
Business Analysis
• Strong skills in requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and documentation
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with trading platforms, risk systems, or financial data platforms
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, Basel, Dodd-Frank)
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar
• Basic understanding of programming (e.g., Python, Java) is advantageous
