Technical Data Engineer

This position works hybrid with 2 to 3 days per week in your local office. Remote only is not an option.

Role Summary

The Technical Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines and platforms that enable analytics, reporting, and AI-driven use cases. This role works closely with data architects, analysts, and business teams to deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT data pipelines for structured and unstructured data
  • Develop batch and real-time data processing solutions
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across platforms
  • Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on solution design
  • Support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases through curated datasets
  • Implement CI/CD and DevOps best practices for data engineering
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance and data issues
  • Identify and Implement Automation

Technology Stack (Representative)

  • Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Data Processing: Apache Spark, Databricks, Kafka
  • Databases & Storage:Synapse, ADLS, MS Foundry
  • ETL / Orchestration: Azure Data Factory, Airflow, dbt, Informatica
  • Programming: Python, SQL
  • Version Control & DevOps: Git, Azure DevOps, Terraform

AI & Advanced Analytics (Nice to Have)

  • Supporting ML and AI pipelines through high-quality data engineering
  • Exposure to feature stores, MLOps, or AI-ready datasets
  • Familiarity with generative AI data patterns (RAG, embeddings, vector stores)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 4–8+ years of experience in data engineering
  • Strong SQL and Python skills
  • Experience working in cloud-based data platforms
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $76,200 to $187,740.

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction. These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
