We are working with two well-regarded investment firms in Hong Kong, both actively building out their technology research capabilities. Each is seeking a senior technology analyst, and while the roles differ slightly in focus, they are targeting a similar profile. If you have strong conviction-based views on technology stocks and a track record of generating alpha in this space, we would like to speak with you.
The Opportunities
One role sits within an established asset management platform with a broad TMT mandate spanning hardware, software, systems, AI, and robotics across both public and private markets globally. The other is with a global long-short equity fund with a dedicated focus on hardware technology, covering US and European listed names.
Both positions are based in Hong Kong and offer the opportunity to work within high-calibre, research-driven investment teams.
What You Will Be Doing
- Conducting deep-dive research on technology companies across global markets, identifying investment opportunities through rigorous fundamental analysis
- Covering hardware technology and/or broader TMT sectors including software, AI, systems, and robotics
- Building and maintaining detailed financial models: revenue forecasts, cash flow analysis, valuation frameworks
- Generating actionable investment ideas with clear long and/or short theses
- Writing high-quality investment memos, research reports, and presentations for portfolio managers and investment committees
- Monitoring portfolio holdings and tracking key operational and financial metrics
- Collaborating with cross-regional investment teams to surface opportunities across public and, where relevant, private markets
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of buy-side investment experience in technology or TMT: hedge funds, asset management, private equity, or venture capital
- Strong expertise in global technology equities, particularly US and/or European listed stocks; long-short experience is a distinct advantage
- Deep sector knowledge in hardware technology and/or broader TMT (software, AI, semiconductors, robotics, systems)
- Excellent financial modelling and valuation skills: DCF, comps, sum-of-the-parts
- Experience with dollar funds or exposure to overseas institutional investors is a plus
- Master's degree or above, ideally combining engineering, computer science, and/or finance
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-conviction, results-driven environment
