Trident Consulting is seeking a "Test Technician – Robotics & Autonomous Systems" for one of our clients in "San Francisco, CA " A global leader in business and technology services.

Job Title: Test Technician – Robotics & Autonomous Systems

Location: San Francisco, CA

Pay Rate: $57/hr. on W2

Duration: 3+ Months (Extension possible)

About the Role

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Reliability Test Technician to support the development and testing of autonomous robotic platforms. This role involves hands-on testing at both system and component levels, ensuring product reliability through structured testing and failure analysis.
  • The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about improving system performance through rigorous testing and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute tests and document findings for root cause analysis
  • Conduct testing on components including electronics, sensors, actuators, and mechanical structures
  • Develop and maintain detailed test procedures to ensure repeatability and consistency
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient test lab environment
  • Provide continuous feedback to improve test methods, specifications, and system performance
  • Support testing activities at external labs and field test locations as needed

Required Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on technical experience in one or more of the following:

  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • Automotive
  • Computer Systems
  • Robotics

Strong ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets

Experience with environmental testing equipment such as:

  • Environmental chambers
  • Vibration tables
  • Mechanical load frames

Hands-on experience with:

  • Soldering and crimping
  • Cable management in lab or shop environments

Proficiency with lab tools and equipment, including:

  • Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems
  • Sensors and instrumentation
  • 3D printers
  • Power tools and shop machinery
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Onshape) for model navigation and basic design edits
  • Experience with Linux-based systems for robotics testing and integration
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work onsite and travel to field locations when required
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on lab and warehouse environment
