Job Title: Test Technician – Robotics & Autonomous Systems
Location: San Francisco, CA
Pay Rate: $57/hr. on W2
Duration: 3+ Months (Extension possible)
About the Role
- We are seeking a highly motivated Reliability Test Technician to support the development and testing of autonomous robotic platforms. This role involves hands-on testing at both system and component levels, ensuring product reliability through structured testing and failure analysis.
- The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about improving system performance through rigorous testing and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute tests and document findings for root cause analysis
- Conduct testing on components including electronics, sensors, actuators, and mechanical structures
- Develop and maintain detailed test procedures to ensure repeatability and consistency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient test lab environment
- Provide continuous feedback to improve test methods, specifications, and system performance
- Support testing activities at external labs and field test locations as needed
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on technical experience in one or more of the following:
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Automotive
- Computer Systems
- Robotics
Strong ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets
Experience with environmental testing equipment such as:
- Environmental chambers
- Vibration tables
- Mechanical load frames
Hands-on experience with:
- Soldering and crimping
- Cable management in lab or shop environments
Proficiency with lab tools and equipment, including:
- Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems
- Sensors and instrumentation
- 3D printers
- Power tools and shop machinery
- Working knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Onshape) for model navigation and basic design edits
- Experience with Linux-based systems for robotics testing and integration
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work onsite and travel to field locations when required
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Comfortable working in a hands-on lab and warehouse environment
