Overview
· ATT is an industry leader in the metrology sector, with a 35-year history. We are a technology company with a culture of technical excellence, professional growth, and innovation.
· We are seeking a Tooling Engineer with strong CATIA experience and hands-on exposure to master gage tooling, aerospace tooling, or precision manufacturing fixtures. This role supports the reverse engineering, validation, and digitization of tooling that enables accurate manufacturing, inspection, and assembly of high-value aerospace components and systems.
· Vision: To be the world leader in precision metrology services and integrated solutions.
· Mission: Offer full metrology solutions to our customers – which will reduce costs and improve quality significantly in their broader value chain.
· This is a full-time, direct-hire role offering a dynamic career path in a supportive, growth-oriented environment, with opportunities to lead measurement projects and implement advanced engineering practices. Please note, this position requires up to 25% travel to support field measurements, validation projects, and client engagements.
Responsibilities
· Convert high-resolution 3D scan data into authoritative CATIA V5 models, developing definitive surface geometry that represents as-built tooling.
· Develop CATIA V5 CATPart deliverables that include tool reference geometry such as surfaces, trim boundaries, holes, curves, points, and vectors, built directly in aircraft coordinate systems (waterline, buttline, fuselage station).
· Create fully enclosed solid models of tooling positioned correctly in aircraft coordinates.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline.
· Strong hands-on experience with CATIA (V5 or 3DEXPERIENCE) for solid modeling, assemblies, and drawing creation.
· Experience designing or supporting master gages, checking fixtures, or aerospace production tooling.
· Working knowledge of GD&T and its application to tooling and inspection strategies.
· Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and inspection workflows.
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and model-based definitions (MBD).
· Familiarity with dimensional metrology concepts and inspection equipment (CMMs, portable arms, laser trackers) is a plus.
· Experience supporting regulated aerospace environments (AS9100, customer-specific requirements) preferred.
· Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently on technically complex tasks.
This position involves access to technology that is subject to U.S. export controls. The applicant must be able to satisfy the requirements of federal export control laws.
