About the Company
An international commodity trading firm is seeking a Trade Finance Manager to support the day-to-day execution of its physical trading activities. The role will focus on managing trade documentation, payments, and basic accounting processes across an active trading book.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone early in their career who is looking to build broad exposure across trade finance, operations, and trade accounting within a commercial environment.
Summary & Responsibilities
- Support execution of trade finance processes across physical cargoes (LCs, payments, settlements, and documentation)
- Prepare and review trade documentation (invoices, bills of lading, LC documents, etc.)
- Track cash movements, payment schedules, and assist with resolving discrepancies
- Work closely with traders, operations, and finance to ensure smooth transaction flow
- Assist with trade accounting activities, including basic P&L tracking, accruals, and reconciliations
- Support month-end processes and reporting alongside finance
- Maintain accurate records across internal systems and spreadsheets
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in trade finance, trade support, operations, or accounting within commodities, banking, or a related field
- Candidates with < 5 years may be considered for an alternate position on this team
- Basic understanding of physical commodity transactions and documentation
- Exposure to LCs, payments, and trade lifecycle processes
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a lean team environment with broad responsibilities
- Proactive, reliable, and willing to take ownership of day-to-day processes
