Job Description

We invite you to apply for the exciting position of Trade Finance Middle Office Analyst within our international banking project, dedicated to US Letters of Credit operations.

As part of our Global Transaction Banking (GTB) team, you will play a vital role in supporting the issuance, management, and control of Trade Finance instruments, including:

  • Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs)
  • Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs)

This position combines operational responsibilities with vital financial crime risk control and compliance (AML/CFT).

Key Responsibilities

Risk Control & Financial Crime

  • Analyze Trade Finance transactions to identify potential AML/CFT risks.
  • Perform sanctions screening checks.
  • Conduct thorough adverse media analyses.
  • Implement Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory frameworks.

Trade Finance Operations (Middle Office)

  • Execute SBLC and Documentary LC operations adhering to UCP 600 / ISP98.
  • Review commercial and financial documentation with precision.
  • Process issuances, amendments, and drawdowns effectively.
  • Accurately prepare and distribute documentation.
  • Monitor transactions to identify potential risks proactively.
  • Ensure timely processing in line with service level agreements (SLAs) and internal procedures.

Coordination & Process Improvement

  • Act as a liaison between Front Office, Back Office, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Escalate issues as necessary.
  • Contribute to operational efficiencies and process enhancements.
  • Prepare insightful reports, dashboards, and control metrics.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Law, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in International Trade is preferred.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Experience in banking operations, particularly in Trade Finance.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Letters of Credit (LCs) and SBLCs
  • UCP 600 and ISBP rules
  • International trade finance practices
  • Experience with SWIFT (MT7xx messages) and Trade Finance systems
  • Basic accounting skills related to booking and reconciliation.
  • AML/Financial Crime knowledge is an asset.

Languages & Tools

  • Advanced Spanish proficiency is essential.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
