Position: Trader - Senior Analyst - Global Capital Markets (FX/Rates

The Validus Global Capital Markets team executes more than half a trillion dollars in derivatives transactions annually across FX, Rates, Equity and Commodity markets. Our clients include many of the largest and most prestigious institutional investors across private equity, credit and real asset markets.

About the Capital Markets Function at Validus

Based in London (Europe), Toronto (North America), and Singapore (Asia), the Capital Markets function provides specialist front, middle, and back‑office outsourced services for our client base of private capital managers, institutional investors, and corporate clients. We offer pricing and trade execution of FX spot, forwards, swaps, and options via various execution channels.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring client positions using our bespoke Risk View technology.
• Preparing market insights for clients.
• Preparing trade requests for senior traders.
• Ensuring accurate trade capture where necessary.
• Monitoring FX and rates markets to proactively assist clients with risk management of their exposures.
• Ensuring client best execution and trading processes are adhered to in every transaction.
• Managing counter party relationships (banks, dealers).
• Carrying out ad hoc project work and any other ancillary tasks as assigned by the Department Head.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of professional trading experience in the relevant field – experience in FX preferable.
• Proven experience trading in Asian markets, specifically with Asian currencies.
• Experience with electronic trading systems preferred (FXall, FXConnect, Bloomberg).
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Postgraduate/undergraduate degree in a quantitative subject (e.g., finance, economics, engineering, math, statistics).
• Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).
• Interest in FX markets and macro drivers.
• A desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment, constantly looking for ways to improve.
