Job Description

Position: Trading Operations Analyst (NGL)

Position Summary

The NGL Trading Analyst supports the Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) commercial team by providing commercial, market, and analytical insights across domestic trading lines of business. This role works closely with traders, Supply Trading Specialists, schedulers, BP&A, and plant personnel who execute physical purchases, sales, buy‑sells, and exchanges for propane, normal butane, isobutane, and naphtha produced at Marathon’s refinery and fractionation assets coast‑to‑coast.

This position is a growth opportunity for a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills and a clear interest in a commercial or trading career. The Trading Analyst will develop a deep understanding of NGL supply, demand, and market fundamentals while performing a critical function on a fast‑paced and expanding team.

While the role primarily supports Denver and Findlay‑based Supply Trading Specialists, the broader NG/NGL/Petrochemical analyst team is distributed across multiple corporate offices. The successful candidate will be a self‑starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and demonstrates strong communication, organization, and cross‑functional collaboration skills. While the focus of this role is NGL trading activities, a successful candidate will have exposure to members of the natural gas and petrochemical trading teams.
