Job Title: Underwriter - Cyber Risk Management

Division: Cyber Risks

Key Relationships: Brokers, underwriters, claims, wordings, insureds, external clients, and suppliers.

Job Summary: As a crucial member of the Cyber Risks team, you will underwrite a diverse Cyber & Technology account, providing expert counsel and advice on various underwriting issues. This role will leverage your technical expertise, enhancing Beazley’s market reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting:
  • Build and manage a profitable portfolio of Cyber & Technology business as part of the Cyber Risks team.
  • Create customized solutions that align with team underwriting parameters and policies to attract new clients and retain existing accounts.
  • Lead the development of innovative non-insurance services for our clients.
  • Monitor premiums, costs, and claims ratios for contracts, taking necessary actions to ensure long-term profitability.
  • Assess appropriate risk premiums by balancing risk costs, reinsurance limits, and associated underwriting and administration costs.
  • Oversee team performance to ensure efficient, cost-effective administration and profitable operations in the Cyber & Technology sector.
  • Guide junior staff to ensure compliance with overall underwriting standards and policies.
  • Collaborate with claims managers to maintain strong relationships and foster business growth.
  • Client Management:
  • Support and advise clients on insurance and risk matters to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients to ensure mutual understanding of needs.
  • Maintain productive partnerships with brokers.
  • Understand Beazley’s full product range and identify opportunities to cross-sell to clients.
  • General:
  • Explore networking opportunities to establish standardized underwriting practices and share best practices within Beazley.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of knowledge sharing in the Cyber Risks team.
  • Collaborate with peers within the Cyber Risks team to maximize business profitability.
  • Prepare presentations and marketing materials as required.
  • Conduct research and formulate business plans for the Cyber Risks account as needed.
