Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Controls & Navigation Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced aerospace technologies. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing and implementing control and navigation solutions that enable reliable and precise autonomous flight performance. The role involves transforming theoretical control models into operational flight software through simulation, iterative validation, and real-world testing. This position offers a competitive salary package while working on next-generation UAV platforms and collaborating closely with innovative-oriented avionics engineers, autonomy developers, and flight test teams.
Responsibilities
Flight Control & Stabilization
Design and develop advanced flight control algorithms.
Implement control strategies to maintain aircraft stability and optimize flight performance.
Improve navigation accuracy through advanced estimation and sensor fusion techniques.
Navigation & State Estimation
Develop and refine algorithms that integrate data from multiple onboard sensors.
Implement state estimation models to enhance aircraft positioning and situational awareness.
Support development of autonomous navigation behaviors for complex missions.
Simulation, Validation & Analysis
Develop simulation frameworks and testing environments to validate navigation and control algorithms.
Analyze flight data to evaluate control performance and identify optimization opportunities.
Perform system validation using simulation and structured engineering testing methodologies.
System Integration & Flight Testing
Work closely with avionics, embedded software, and autonomy teams to integrate control algorithms into UAV systems.
Participate in flight testing campaigns to validate system performance under real-world conditions.
Conduct tuning and optimization of flight control parameters based on testing results.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in control systems, estimation theory, and dynamic system modelling.
Experience developing algorithms for robotics, aerospace, or autonomous platforms.
Proficiency in C / C++ and / or Python for real-time or embedded system development.
Hands-on experience tuning control loops and stabilizing real-world dynamic systems.
Experience with simulation environments or engineering validation tools is considered an asset.
Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across engineering teams.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Control Systems, or a related discipline.
