Vice President, Algorithmic Trading C++ Software Engineer – IST

Morgan Stanley is looking to hire a C++ Software Engineer into its Algo in Hong Kong. This job involves designing, implementing, and deploying sophisticated software systems that perform automated valuation and trading for most of major Asian markets.

The ideal candidate will have strong C++, experience in building low latency systems, good communication skills with an understanding of modern software engineering paradigms used at scale.

Experience in financial markets and market making is desired.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with our business partners in sales and trading, risk management, compliance, operations, research and other technology teams at Morgan Stanley.
• You will work the full application life‑cycle in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes agile development environment.
• This is a hands‑on role in a global team doing continuous delivery across many global markets, so you will also have to communicate with global colleagues.

Qualifications

• At least 9 years of C++ development knowledge in a UNIX/Linux environment; Candidates with less experience will also be considered
• Strong experience with C++ profiling and performance analysis tools.
• Experience building low latency trading engines and algorithms in C++ using STL/Boost/Multithreading for a Unix/Linux platform. Experience in developing system for Algo Engine / SOR / Electronic Trading / market making business.
• Knowledge and experience on agile software development practices.
• Scripting Python and KDB/Q experience is an advantage.
• Candidates with less experience will also be considered
