What you’ll do…

We are seeking an accomplished, visionary, and highly strategic Vice President of Engineering, Electrical to provide executive leadership and direction for Engineering group within our EPC projects. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for the overall technical direction, quality, and timely execution of engineering designs across a portfolio of complex energy infrastructure projects. The VP will oversee the strategic planning, development, and execution of electrical designs for our advanced distributed generation and microgrid solutions, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology and market leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing strategic leadership and technical oversight for all electrical engineering activities, ensuring alignment with company goals and project objectives.
  • Providing executive leadership and strategic vision for the entire Electrical Engineering department, aligning engineering initiatives with overall company objectives and growth strategies.
  • Defining and championing the long-term technical roadmap for electrical systems, ensuring Enchanted Rock remains at the forefront of distributed energy technology and innovation.
  • Building, mentoring, and empowering a high-performing and scalable electrical engineering organization, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous professional development.
  • Establishing and enforcing world-class engineering standards, policies, and best practices to ensure unparalleled quality, reliability, and efficiency across all projects and product lines.
  • Serving as the ultimate technical authority and strategic advisor on all complex electrical engineering matters, guiding critical design decisions and problem-solving efforts.
  • Driving significant advancements in electrical system architecture and design for next-generation distributed generation, energy storage, and microgrid solutions.
  • Cultivating strong collaborative relationships with Executive Leadership, Product Development, Project Management, Sales, and Operations to ensure seamless integration and execution of engineering initiatives.
  • Strategically managing key external relationships with regulatory bodies, utility partners, technology vendors, and industry consortia to influence standards and foster innovation.
  • Overseeing the technical due diligence for strategic partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions, evaluating electrical engineering capabilities and technological fit.
  • Leading the development of intellectual property related to electrical systems and contributing to Enchanted Rock’s patent portfolio.
  • Ensuring absolute compliance with all national and international electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, UL, IEC) across all engineering activities.
  • Implementing advanced risk management frameworks for electrical engineering, proactively identifying and mitigating potential technical, operational, and regulatory risks.

Required Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution; a Bachelor’s degree with exceptional experience will be considered.
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in Electrical Engineering, with at least 10 years in senior leadership or executive management roles within the energy or power generation sector.
  • Extensive expertise in high-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution systems, advanced switchgear controls, grid interconnection, and comprehensive knowledge of national and international electrical codes and standards.
  • Proven executive ability to manage a portfolio of complex engineering programs and strategic initiatives simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Highly strategic, visionary, and results-oriented, with a strong business acumen and the ability to translate technical strategies into tangible business outcomes.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing executive stakeholders, representing the company at industry events, and inspiring large engineering teams.
