About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Vice President, Lead Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager to assist in origination and management of commercial real estate loans. This portfolio will be diversified by product type (multifamily, industrial, retail, office, mixed-use, land), client type (institutional, private, public), facility type (construction, term, bridge, perm, lines of credit, etc.) and loan structure (recourse/non-recourse; secured vs. unsecured; mezzanine financing).
In this role, you will:
- Lead the underwriting and presentation of new opportunities to business leaders and credit officers.
- Collaborate and partner across CRE (CMBS, GSE, Syndications, Community Lending, Repo, etc) and CIB (Rates, REGAL, etc) to support duel quoting transactions and efficiently delivering the firm to address our clients needs
- Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring exceptional understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Analyze and underwrite new loan opportunities within the assigned portfolio, utilizing market research, internal loan information, client data, and third-party market research
- Collaborate with coverage bankers to develop strategies around relationship optimization and deal level execution
- Perform sponsorship and loan level financial analysis
- Complete in-depth property level analysis and market research
- Work with outside counsel, internal compliance, and our loan closing teams to close modifications and new loans including review of third-party reports and loan documentation
- Review and approve construction loan draws
- Conduct quarterly and annual portfolio reviews to identify potential concerns
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the local commercial real estate market and broader capital markets
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within scope of responsibilities or functional area
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships while actively participating in the successful execution of complex transactions
- Consistent curiosity in the capital markets
- High quality communication up and down the chain of any relationship or deal
- Familiarity with the commercial property types including multifamily, retail, industrial, office, hospitality etc.
- Familiarity with various facility types including construction, term, bridge, perm, lines of credit, etc. and loan structures including recourse/non-recourse, secured/unsecured, and mezzanine financing
- Experience evaluating market conditions and identifying appropriate comparable properties
- Ability to apply sound judgment in the application of analytical conclusions to credit approval, structure, and management recommendations
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including some advanced accounting and finance functions in Microsoft Excel

- Ability to work in office a minimum of 4 to 5 days per week
