What is the opportunity?

As a Vice President on the Loan Portfolio Management – Credit team, you will contribute to the qualitative and quantitative management of the Capital Markets corporate loan portfolio. Working with partners in Corporate Banking, Risk Management, and Global Credit, you will proactively identify and escalate credit concerns to senior management, and present credit analytics at the Portfolio Risk Committee (PRC) weekly, covering at the Loan Portfolio Risk Committee (LPRC) as required. You will also design and deliver data-driven portfolio analytics, lead industry portfolio summary initiatives, and drive longer-term strategic projects from conception through to execution. In this role, you will refine your credit, analytical, and project management skills while developing a strong understanding of RBC's Capital Markets lending business.

What will you do?

  • Complete financial and credit risk analysis on companies within RBCCM's loan portfolio, used in preparation of Global Credit's Credit Concern Report
  • Present credit analysis and portfolio insights weekly at the PRC, and cover at the LPRC when required
  • Manage the Early Warnings (Triage) process to identify credits at risk of downward migration; lead associated process improvements
  • Manage the Watchlist process, including advising on additions and removals and completing Watchlist commentary
  • Lead the development and maintenance of industry portfolio summaries, providing senior management with regular, structured views of credit risk and performance across key sectors
  • Design, build, and maintain credit portfolio analytics tools and reporting, mining both internal and public data sources to deliver actionable insights to senior management
  • Own and drive longer-term strategic projects and initiatives, managing timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables through to completion
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and expertise to LPM Credit team members and Global Credit colleagues

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have's:

  • 5–10 years of lending, credit, or risk management experience
  • Proven track record evaluating credit risk in an underwriting, adjudication, or rating assessment role
  • Demonstrated ability to present credit views confidently to senior risk committees
  • Strong data and analytical skills, with the ability to manipulate large datasets and translate findings into clear, senior-ready outputs
  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects through to delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in business, economics, mathematics, or a quantitative field; MBA, CFA, or CA an asset

Nice-to-have's:

  • Knowledge of loan documentation and covenant reporting
  • Proficiency with data and databases (Excel, Microsoft Access)
  • Experience with SQL and VBA
  • Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools
