Vice President of Safety & Risk Management (Dallas, Texas) Position Overview:

A top ENR-ranked, rapidly growing commercial construction contractor is seeking a Vice President of Safety & Risk Management to lead and execute enterprise-wide safety strategy. This executive will drive a culture of safety excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with operations to deliver best-in-class safety performance across diverse construction environments. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engagement to advance safety innovation, workforce protection, and operational effectiveness.

Vice President of Safety & Risk Management Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the company’s overall safety and risk management strategy
  • Foster a strong, proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization
  • Partner with operations to ensure safe planning, execution, and compliance on all projects
  • Oversee incident prevention, investigations, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Manage workers’ compensation, claims, and return-to-work programs
  • Establish and track key safety performance metrics and drive accountability
  • Standardize safety programs, training, and compliance processes across the company
  • Build and lead a high-performing safety team with strong field engagement

Vice President Of Safety & Risk Management Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive EHS experience, including leadership roles within construction, industrial, or utility sectors
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, OSHA 500/502, or similar preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading EHS programs at a regional or national level
  • Proven ability to influence organizational culture and drive behavioral change at all levels
  • Experience leveraging technology and data systems to enhance safety performance and visibility
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, from field teams to executive leadership
  • Willingness and ability to travel to support field operations
