About the Role:Responsible for setting the vision and leading end-to-end execution of the company’s R&D and development portfolio, ensuring programs progress efficiently from discovery through commercialization. Shapes portfolio strategy, prioritization, governance, and execution rigor in alignment with corporate strategy, capital allocation, and regulatory objectives. Serves as a trusted enterprise leader and advisor to senior management, partnering closely with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, Commercial, Finance, and Corporate Strategy to deliver predictable outcomes in a complex, multi-program environment._

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):• Sets and leads the enterprise Program and Portfolio Management function across discovery, preclinical, clinical, and commercial development; owns integrated development plans, timelines, prioritization, and execution standards across all assets.

  • Partners with Executive Leadership, Finance, and Corporate Strategy to shape portfolio strategy, capacity planning, and capital allocation decisions, balancing risk, value, resources, and long-term business objectives.
  • Designs and leads portfolio and program governance forums; provides clear, decision-ready insights on tradeoffs involving timelines, risk, probability of success, and value for executive and, as applicable, Board-level decision making.
  • Acts as the enterprise integrator across Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, Nonclinical, Biometrics, Commercial, and Medical Affairs; anticipates, escalates, and resolves critical issues impacting portfolio delivery and company outcomes.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing Program Management organization; defines enterprise standards, metrics, and operating models; develops leadership talent and drives a culture of accountability, transparency, and disciplined execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:• BS/BA degree or Master’s degree AND 20+ years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical development, with significant leadership in project or program management OR

  • PhD preferred AND 17+ years of similar experience noted above
  • Extensive previous leadership experiences also required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
  • Acts as a trusted leader across the company and a go-to advisor for senior management; demonstrates the ability to influence executive leadership and operate effectively in highly ambiguous, high-impact environments.
  • Possesses exceptional business acumen with the ability to think and operate cross-functionally; provides input into company strategy, vision, and direction and translates strategy into executable outcomes.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of Program and Portfolio Management with broad understanding of multiple functions and their impact on the business; applies best practices to strengthen enterprise execution.
  • Exhibits exceptional executive communication skills, synthesizing complex information into clear, decision-ready narratives for executive and Board-level forums.
  • Exercises broad discretion; decisions have long-term impact on company success, and erroneous decisions could have serious consequences for long-term company operations and value.
