Job Description

The West Zone Leader, AIGRM will be based in Los Angeles or San Francisco and report to the EVP Field Operations, AIG Risk Management. This role will lead and be responsible for the development and execution of the West Region AIGRM portfolio and growth strategies, including in the following key cities: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Portland and Seattle. This is a critical market, with a significant amount of growth opportunities. Total projected 2026 premium is $170mm with 85 accounts. This role will also be responsible for maintaining a profitable renewal book and for the continual pipeline strategy for new business growth.

AIG Risk Management (AIGRM) is the Primary Casualty and Alternative Risk business of AIG. Major lines of coverage provided are Workers Compensation, Auto Liability and General Liability.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage portfolio consisting of an AIGRM book of business including Workers' Compensation, General Liability and Automobile Liability.
  • Drive consistent underwriting best practices and guidelines across the region to ensure rating,pricing, and structuring of the business is aligned with long-term profit center goals through adaptation, innovation,and risk selection to maximize ROE, improve profit and maintain market leadership.
  • Handle referrals within stated authority.
  • Ensure effective utilization by underwriters and managers of detailed monitoring standards including quality reviews to assess underwriting results and loss ratios down to the account level.
  • Ensure collaboration across the matrix to maximize, deliver, and consistently harness the AIGRM value proposition to the marketplace.
  • Balance and enhance local broker relationships, leveraging the strength of a larger book of casualty business.
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate work of managers;prepare managers to make decisions regarding employee pay, performance management, development, employment, and staffing levels.
  • Lead Regional Staff focusing on mentoring, staff development, bench strength building and talent management and drive a culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, diversity and inclusion.

Job Requirements:

  • 15+ years of Casualty product insurance leadership experience knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition, and distribution.
  • Proven strategic leadership skills in developing vision and purpose, driving for results and leading effective teams.
  • Established strong relationships with customers and brokers.
  • Skilled leader of change; versatile, client focused, results oriented.
  • Demonstrated business savvy, analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Expert technical underwriting background with advanced knowledge of third-party insurance for all industries.
