About the Client: We are partnering with a top-tier, global systematic investment manager operating across all liquid asset classes. Technology and data are the lifeblood of this firm. They utilize a strictly scientific approach to investing, solving highly complex market challenges through sophisticated engineering. Their collaborative, high-performance culture empowers technologists to build, automate, and scale the mission-critical infrastructure that directly drives global trading returns.
The Role & Landscape: Joining the Global Infrastructure Team, you will serve as a specialized Windows Platform & Automation Engineer. This role is strictly focused on the backend server architecture and identity management that underpins research technology, market execution, and massive data pipelines. You will move away from desktop escalations to focus on high-level Active Directory engineering and cross-platform scripting.
- Backend Architecture: Build, scale, and optimize enterprise-grade Windows Server environments (2022–2025) and VMware virtualized infrastructure.
- Identity Management: Design, deploy, and support globally distributed, multi-forest Active Directory ecosystems, managing DNS, trusts, replication, and Entra ID integration.
- Cross-Platform Automation: Write, maintain, and execute advanced automation scripts utilizing PowerShell, Perl, and Shell to streamline infrastructure provisioning and bridge heterogeneous environments.
- Infrastructure as Code: Drive modern configuration management and automated workflows to eliminate manual AD user/group management and server deployments.
- Resilience & Security: Architect complex Group Policy Objects (GPOs), manage RBAC models, and ensure bulletproof disaster recovery via optimized backup platforms.
What We Are Looking For:
- Backend Mastery: 5+ years of dedicated experience focused heavily on Windows Server administration, clustering, and virtualization (VMware ESXi).
- Identity Expertise: Exceptional, hands-on architectural command of Active Directory, GPO design, and complex authentication protocols (Kerberos, NTLM).
- Scripting Polyglot: Mandatory, advanced proficiency in scripting languages beyond just PowerShell. You must have strong, proven experience coding in Perl and Shell (Bash) for automation and system integration.
- Infrastructure Automation: Experience treating infrastructure like code, building robust deployment pipelines, and automated health checks.
- Domain Background: Previous experience in highly complex, low-latency, or mixed-OS environments (Financial Services, Trading, or large-scale Tech).
Why Apply To This Role: This is an opportunity to leave desktop support behind and focus purely on high-level infrastructure architecture and coding. You will tackle complex automation challenges in a heavily funded, cutting-edge quantitative trading environment, working alongside some of the sharpest engineering minds in the industry, backed by highly lucrative compensation structures.
