Position Description:Design electrical systems (e.g., develop single line diagrams, select equipment and materials, conductor sizing) for offsite manufactured and modular building components. Provide oversight of offsite manufactured elements to meet electrical performance, safety, and compliance standards while optimizing for transport, assembly, and installation on-site.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical designs for xPL Offsite Manufacturing (OSM) products and systems, including single line development, equipment and component selections, submittal development, and system optimization.
- Collaborate with Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, and other construction disciplines to seamlessly integrate OSM Medium/Low Voltage (MV/LV) electrical systems into design documents.
- Create detailed electrical drawings using mechanical design, product development, and/or Building Information Modeling applications.
- Engage in client-facing and cross-functional discussions to coordinate electrical designs, propose solutions to mitigate risks and finalize electrical designs.
- Exercise independent judgment in engineering decisions to develop designs and in review and approval of engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents and confirm coordination of vendor drawings to engineering requirements.
- Assess materials and construction methods for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
- Partner with xPL OSM manufacturing team to oversee designs that optimize production, assembly, transportation, and site installation.
- Conduct manufacturing shop floor and field visits to verify constructability and alignment with operational needs.
- Stay current on innovations in electrical engineering and OSM construction techniques.
- Support research and development efforts focused on developing and enhancing OSM products and solutions.
- Prepare technical studies, specifications, cost estimates, and proposal evaluations.
- Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
