YOUTH ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR

This unique role will be a part of SpaceX’s Starbase Education team. Our goal is to support the education of all children who are a part of the Starbase SpaceX community. As such, this job comes with many responsibilities but primarily entails designing and leading many bespoke Starbase youth programs, including our daily afterschool program (Afterschool Club), camps held throughout the year, and a series of youth activity programs for kids throughout the year. This individual will work closely with the education director throughout the year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the afterschool program for Ad Astra students daily

Design a bespoke, rigorous, enriching aftercare program curriculum

Design and execute on camp programming (e.g., Summer Odyssey, Thanksgiving camp, winter break camp, spring break camps)

Create an intentional calendar of events and programs throughout the year that impact all Starbase children

Support the Starbase Education and Ad Astra teams in achieving their goals in academic excellence and social-emotional wellness

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience managing projects in a school setting 

Experience working in education environments 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience building and implementing programs

Passionate about disruptive educational opportunities

Experience in prioritization and time management

Experience in stakeholder management and presenting to senior leaders

Deeply curious and ready to learn and work hard in high-pressure, fast-paced environments

Deep heart for all children and believes in their ability to learn and grow

Higher education degrees in related fields

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to work extended hours, occasionally

Must be able to work on weekends, occasionally

This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Starbase, TX area
