Job Description

As an Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer, you will be part of a team developing high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for connectivity applications. Responsibilities include the design, simulation, verification, and characterization of circuit blocks such as PLLs, DLLs, ADCs, regulators, amplifiers, clocking circuits, transmitters, and receivers using industry-standard design tools.

Basic Qualifications

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, preferably from a top-tier university.

0-3 years of relevant industry, internship, or research experience in analog, mixed-signal, or RF IC design.

Desired Experience

Hands-on internship experience in analog, mixed-signal, RF, or custom IC design is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of bias circuits, bandgaps, voltage/current references, amplifiers, comparators, clocking circuits, and data converters.

Solid fundamentals in transistor-level design, device physics, feedback/stability analysis, noise analysis, mismatch, and jitter concepts.

Familiarity with high-speed mixed-signal building blocks such as ADCs, DACs, PLLs, transmitters, receivers, optical TIAs/drivers, and calibration circuits.

Exposure to deep-submicron CMOS technologies through coursework, research, projects, or internships.

Experience with industry-standard circuit design and simulation tools.

Knowledge of optical, wireline, or RF communication systems is a plus.

Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, C/C++, Verilog, or Verilog-A is desirable.

Exposure to PCB design, silicon validation, lab characterization, and debugging is a plus.

Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, presentation, and documentation skills.

Why join us

As a new college graduate at Astera Labs, you will take ownership of meaningful work from the start while learning from experienced engineers and customer-facing technical leaders. You will gain broad exposure to how connectivity products move from architecture and evaluation through integration, validation, customer enablement, and deployment in AI infrastructure.

Compensation

Salary range is $165,000 to $180,000 depending on experience, and education level. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits.

We know that creativity and innovation happen more often when teams include diverse ideas, backgrounds, and experiences, and we actively encourage everyone with relevant experience to apply, including people of color, LGBTQ+ and non-binary people, veterans, parents, and individuals with disabilities.
